It is said that the human voice is the most beautiful instrument in the world. We found a community called “Sharing Happy,” where members use their voices as instruments to learn yodeling and Alpine folk music.
The faces of the members participating in the music class are filled with excitement and happiness, making those watching want to join in. The class is held every Thursday under the guidance of instructor Lee Eun-Hye, who has 30 years of experience.
About 20 members, ranging in age from their 30s to 70s, are in the community. “The activities improve our quality of life and help us form positive social relationships. It’s fun to perform in costumes and with instruments during practice,” said the community members.
This community was selected for the 2023 Village Community Program and, believe that “when I am happy, happiness spreads to others,” performed yodeling songs and Alpine folk music in various locations in the Bupyeong District. The performance at the Bupyeong Folk Festival and the award for excellence in village community activities gave the members great pride.
“I want to continue practicing expanding our musical activities in the community. We will work hard to become a community that communicates and empathizes with our neighbors. Above all, it makes us happier,” said Yang Gui-Yeon, the community president. “Yodeling is like filling a jar. When our joy fills the jar, it naturally flows to our family and friends, making their lives happier.”
“Sharing Happy” is a wonderful group that communicates with the local residents and plays a central role in village community activities by teaching yodeling songs and Alpine folk instruments.
