Bupyeong is a large district with a population of 570 thousand people . Being located in the northwest of Incheon City, the living sphere of this area was divided into Mt. Wonjeok (former Mt. Cheolma) and Mt. Manwol from ancient time and due to this, it was able to develop a culture different from that of the Incheon area. Focusing on Bupyeong field, the farming culture was naturally settled in this area; therefore, Pungmul, the unique institutions and customs, have been naturally developed.
